IMED Project

I had a great time filming the IMED project. However, there were some challenges.

Challenges:

  • The shoes did not fit
  • The music we had was detected for copyright by Vimeo
  • The order of the clips while editing and the time

How we overcame challenges:

  • We planned the order with great concentration
  • We had Hamza as the actor because the shoes only fit him.
  • We removed the music and replaced it.

ISA GLASS

I found the video to be entertaining and motivational. The speaker informed us of the journey that we need to undertake to reach our full potential. Although he spoke of being creative, I believe his ideal applies to all aspects of life.

Green Screen Assignment

1. What I found challenging was inserting the correct title slide, and exporting it using the correct video format.

2. The easiest part was removing the greenscreen and adding in a transition,

3. I was surprised how easy it was to use a greenscreen.

Story Board

I will be creating a how-to video for my IMED video project. In the video, I will be demonstrating how to build a watergun flamethrower.

First, I will, film the gathered materials. Next, I will narrate what I'm going to do next (pour the alcohol in the watergun) and then pump it.

Last, I will showcase how to build the priming mechanism and then I will build it.

Blog Post

What have I learned?
I have learned to use Adobe Premier to edit video length, video clips, and audio.

What was the most difficult?
I believe the most difficult part was learning the layout of Adobe Premiere,

What seems easy?
Exporting the final video seems really easy.

How will I film it?
I will either be using a tripod or a cameraperson.

Where will I be filming?
I will be filming at home.

Who is working with me of this project?
It's just me.

Storyboards

I find it interesting how directors and producers use storyboards to outline their productions before they actually start filming or drawing. I was intrigued when one of the producers of Avatar stated that there were 15,000 final drawings per episode; moreover they were by done by hand, and not drawn using a computer.

Web Design Unit

I am excited to start the video unit. I will be filming a "How To" video. I am sure on what I want to make a video on exactly, but here are some ideas:

  • Make a flamethrower from a watergun
  • Make a paper airplane
  • Do a backflip

Web Design Unit

The most difficult part of this entire unit was coming up with an idea for which to create my website on. Creating the website itself was not hard or complicated at all, rather, I found it quite easy. The easiest thing to understand and execute was publishing the website to FileZilla. This is closely related to the most rewarding experience, with was seeing my website published online.

I do believe that sooner or later, I will use the skills I have learned in this class in the real world.

Cosmic Rays

I found this video very interesting. The part I found most fascinating was the fact that we know very little about the universe. We do not know if space is finite, or if it is infinite. We do not know, how space started. We don't even understand the wave-particle duality of light and quantum theory.

The video we watched explained the concept of cosmic rays: rays that originate from stars going supernova, orbit the star due to magnetic attraction, and then fling out due to centrifugal force, speeding out into space at nearly the speed of light. I do not deny nor support the existence of extraterrestrial life due to inconclusive evidence.

Sight

The video we watched today in class, "Sight", is about a world in which technology has become fully integrated into our daily lives. We are heavily dependent on technology to the point where even our eyesight, a vital sense, has become mixed with technology.

I believe that given enough time and resources, we will be able to engineer this degree of technology. However, in order to do so, we will have to make an exchange: to renounce a part of what makes up human in the name of greater convenience and efficiency. It is an arduous decision and not one to be taken lightly.

IMED Learning

I feel like I've learned many new things in IMED. I have learned the basic structure of static webpages, HTML, and have been exposed to a little bit of CSS. Now, when I visit websites, I am a lot more aware of the work that goes into creating these websites and therefore appreciate the developers more.

In addition to learning about how webpages are created, I have also learned one aspect of how web pages are designed. In IMED, over the past week, we have used Adobe DreamWeaver to design webpages.

Walking On Air Response

I really liked the NASA "Walking On Air" video. It was phenomenal seeing the Earth from outside the atmosphere. I was amazed at seeing the northern and southern lights, as well as being able to identify major cities from the light they emit. I feel like the astronauts in the International Space Station did a fantastic job in creating this video.

Youtube Videos Respone

The videos we watched in class were intriguing and fascinating. The first video we watched explained how the internet worked. Although I had a vague understanding of how the internet worked, the video helped me understand the whole picture. Now that I look back on it, I never really thought about how the internet worked - I took it for granted - but now I realize how vast and complex the internet really is.

The second video we watched portrayed the consequences of putting too much information online. Individuals who have bad intentions can root out publicly available information, and slowly but surely, piece together a person's life. From there on they can blackmail and exploit the victim for personal gains. This really showcased the importance of thinking twice befire

Web 2.0

Web 2.0 describes the technology of the websites we use today. Web 1.0, its predecessor, refers to the early stage of the internet. Web 2.0 is more than hyperlinks to other websites, more than just information, and more than just text. With new technologies such as XML, RSS, and web APIs, Web 2.0 is a much more rich, interactive experience.

Web 3.0 is the next step in web design. Web 3.0 will be able to act like a personal assistant, understanding complex sentences and commands. It will be more intelligent and have open APIs and open protocols.
